David Spear Commercial Vehicles apprentice Layla Hawkins-Price is continuing an impressive apprenticeship journey after being named Coleg Gwent Apprentice of the Year.
Layla began her apprenticeship at Coleg Gwent in Newport, where she was named Apprentice of the Month on several occasions in recognition of her hard work and progress before going on to win the college's prestigious Apprentice of the Year award.
She has since moved to Cardiff and Vale College, where she is completing the third year of her apprenticeship and working towards her Level 3 qualification, while continuing to gain practical experience with David Spear Commercial Vehicles.
Layla's success has continued during her third year, recently finishing third in Wales in the Welsh Skills Competition, competing against apprentices and skilled individuals from across the country.
For Layla, an apprenticeship offered the opportunity to combine education with real-world experience, developing her technical skills and confidence while gaining a recognised qualification.
She now hopes to continue developing her skills and build a long-term career with David Spear Commercial Vehicles.
