Following a variety of regional and sector launches, we are now looking for an individual or organisation to partner with Business News Wales to become our Pembrokeshire editor.

In partnership with Pembrokeshire Council, Bridge Innovation Centre, Milford Haven Port Authority, Banc of Wales and Acorn Recruitment, the news channel has been launched to improve the digital connectivity in the region while showcasing Pembrokeshire to the pan-Wales market.

In addition, a FREE Monthly e-newsletter will be available for businesses wanting a weekly round-up of what has been happening in the region. Social media channels have also been launched to embrace the accelerated digital connectivity in the area.

Whilst exploring all that Pembrokeshire has to offer, the upgraded section will also be showcasing the businesses and individuals making a significant impact on the region.

David Thomas, Bridge Innovation Centre comments:

“There is a lot going on in Pembrokeshire, particularly here at the Bridge Innovation Centre.  There seems to be a lot of business confidence, the property market is picking up more than we have seen in a long time, and businesses in the Innovation Centre are growing to the point where we are struggling to find space for them within our main building.

Our own BUCANIER project, which is an ERDF Sponsored Project in the Ireland Wales programme working with businesses in Food and Drink, Life Science and Renewable Energy sectors was launched at the UK Science Park Association meeting 2 weeks ago. Bringing together partners in Ireland and Wales the project aims to build new clusters and networks and increase the innovation agenda across the regions. We are delighted to see the Pembrokeshire Section of Business News Wales moving into phase two on the site and look forward to contributing to it.”

Our ongoing priority is to open up conversation, involving businesses, government, public bodies, local authorities, universities and other stakeholders. By doing so, we will provide our readers with the latest overview of the region.

Mark Powney, managing director of Business News Wales, comments:

“Growing up in Pembrokeshire, I have had first-hand experience of the issues and opportunities within the region. I started my first business with the local Princes Trust and former Pembrokeshire Business Initiative and it gives me a tremendous amount of pride to be championing a place I will always call home.

Pembrokeshire receives very little national exposure generally and my aim is to showcase the business activity in the region, whilst providing a spotlight opportunity for all core and immerging industries.

Pembrokeshire Business News will create a very useful communications channel for business throughout the region and give them a strong platform to sell to the Pan Wales market/and further afield. Regional connectivity is key to the area and will make a big difference, as the world of digital evolves.

The Pembrokeshire launch also marks the beginning a variety of regional local authority partnerships that will be announced shortly.

One of the core objectives of Business News Wales is to showcase Wales as a thriving business destination to the international investment community. As part of the launch of this new section we plan to highlight opportunities Pembrokeshire offers at a local, national and international level”.
