The UK funding landscape is ever-changing and almost weekly a new alternative source of funding becomes available to small businesses.

If you have identified that you need to look externally to raise finance to grow your business, how will you navigate the funding landscape and identify which source of finance is the right one for your business? And crucially, how do you avoid wasting your time chasing the wrong funders?

The Growth Finance team at G are experts in raising funds for small businesses.

Meet the G team and some of their contacts from the funding world for an evening of unique insight and the opportunity to receive support advice for your business.

The evening will cover:

  • Insights into today’s funding market for small businesses from co-host Sarah Abrahams, Grant Thornton and Jonathan Keeling, Crowdcube.
  • Hear from Simply Do Ideas on their impressive growth journey to date
  • How to create impact with investors: hear first-hand what our panellists from Maven Capital Partners, Bran Investments, Development Bank of Wales and Catalyst Growth Partners (CGP) look for in an investment opportunity and how to maximise your chances of success in securing finance
  • This will be followed by an evening of networking with other like-minded business leaders, plus the opportunity to book in a one-to-one funding clinic with our Growth Finance team, who will provide you with invaluable support, tailored to your business.

Are you looking to fund your next stage of growth? Have you already started your funding journey and are looking for some pointers? Whatever your situation, today’s complex funding landscape can be difficult and time-consuming to navigate.

Help is here. G by Grant Thornton supports leaders of dynamic small businesses to achieve their growth ambitions. In the past year alone, their specialist Growth Finance team has supported with the funding strategy of over 100 transactions of up to £10m. Grant Thornton, Cardiff invites you to join its G team and some of their contacts from the funding world, on Wednesday 27th June for their next Ready.Fund.Grow Event at Tramshed Tech in Cardiff.

On the evening, business leaders will hear the latest insights on today’s UK funding landscape, led by Bethan Bannister, who heads up the Growth Finance service across Wales for Grant Thornton, and her co-hosts Sarah Abrahams, Head of Growth Finance at Grant Thornton and Jonathan Keeling from Crowdcube. There will be a fireside chat and Q&A with successful CEO and Founder, Lee Sharma, who will share the personal growth story of his fast-growing cloud technology business, Simply Do Ideas.

Lee’s fireside chat will lead into insights and discussion from a panel of four expert investors who we’ll introduce further over the coming weeks in Business News Wales and on the G Website.

Sarah Abrahams, head of Growth Finance, Grant Thornton UK LLP, said:

‘When we launched our G brand in Wales in 2017 we held a number of successful funding clinics, workshops and masterclasses for the local early-stage business community and the response was impressive. We quickly realised there was a need to service this growing dynamic SME market in Wales and having Beth on the team will enable us to support even more Welsh businesses with investment readiness and connections to investors. Our plan is to hold further G Community events, dedicated to supporting and guiding entrepreneurs looking for external finance and to provide the insight and experience needed to help them on their growth journey.’

The Ready.Fund.Grow. Event will be an informal evening, encouraging guests to interact with funders and network with other like-minded business leaders and there is the opportunity for attendees to book a one-to-one funding clinic with G’s Growth Finance Service Manager, Bethan Bannister.
