Admiral and Welsh ICE have announced a partnership to launch a nine week after-hours business course that takes budding female entrepreneurs through the fundamental things they need to know about to make their business idea a success. In celebration of Admiral’s 30th birthday this year, the Admiral 5-9 Club will welcome 30 women onto the programme.

This exclusive cohort will start on the 18th of May and run every Thursday for nine weeks. It’s been designed for females and those who identify as female and will be available to those in and around the Cardiff areas, including Cardiff, Newport, Valleys, Vale, and Bridgend.

Danielle Jones, Social Purpose Manager at Admiral, says:

”We’re so excited to introduce the Admiral 5-9 Club and work with Welsh ICE to provide an invaluable opportunity for women to make their business dreams a reality. We recognise the role we can play in removing the barriers that many women face when looking to launch a business, and we want to ensure they have all the right tools, knowledge, and network to make it a roaring success!”

The programme will be taught by industry experts alongside like-minded people in a supportive and fun environment. It will cover topics such as idea generation, sales, marketing, branding, putting your business online, business planning, breaking barriers and imposter syndrome, pitching your idea, and essential funding and legal advice.

Live masterclasses will provide practical “how-to's” and tools to help launch and develop businesses. Participants can choose to learn in person or virtually if they have barriers to in-person learning such as childcare or transport and can also catch up on recorded workshops in their own time. Additional in-person and virtual wrap-around support will be provided by Welsh ICE.

In the final week, all participants will be invited to a special pitch evening to share their ideas with experts and gain industry insight, professional contacts, positive feedback, and guidance to leave the course with.

The programme will also include a series of panel discussions to tackle common barriers experienced by local female entrepreneurs when starting up. Participants will additionally get the chance to meet new potential business partners, collaborators, and friends.

Admiral and Welsh ICE are both female-led organisations, and as such, were keen to focus on supporting women for their first collaboration. Welsh ICE CEO, Lesley Williams, has a passion for helping women succeed in business and is thrilled to be part of this partnership.

She said:

“Welsh ICE believes in supporting female founders to succeed and to help them achieve their full potential. Women entrepreneurs make significant contributions to economic growth and to poverty reduction around the world.

We're excited to provide a platform for budding female entrepreneurs in and around the Cardiff areas to gain the essential knowledge and support they need to succeed in their ventures. This partnership with Admiral will help us provide an even greater impact and give a boost to women-led businesses in our community.”

The Female Founders 5-9 Club starts on the 18th of May and will run every Thursday for 9 weeks. For more information or to apply you can visit www.ice.community/apply-admiral or call 02920 140 040 to learn more.
