Welsh content marketing and PR agency BrandContent has scooped a retained contract with leading insurer Admiral in a five-way pitch.
The financial services and tech consultancy won the contract in a competitive five-way pitch process against global and London-based agencies. The win sees BrandContent deliver Admiral’s UK consumer-facing PR and social amplification to drive brand awareness across its car and home insurance product range.
The latest win joins an impressive line-up of global, national and regional clients from Wales, to London and as far as Dubai and America. BrandContent’s portfolio of clients includes currency expert FairFX, The Royal Mint, Government and a number of financial and tech firms. As a small business itself, BrandContent also has a vested interest in supporting new start-ups including price comparison site About the Funeral, wealth management firm Delio and artificial intelligence firm AMPLYFI.
Sharon Flaherty, founder and managing director at BrandContent and chair of PRCA Wales, set up the agency over two years ago after leaving MoneySuperMarket as their group head of communications.
“Our latest client wins demonstrates our business strategy which is that you don’t have to be based in London or have a huge swathe of staff to compete with the best. Admiral was specifically looking to work with a national agency and we persuaded them that they could get that right here in Wales. Our location has never held us back when working with national and global clients. We have broad horizons and deliver big results for clients whether they’re based around the corner, across the country or the other side of the world.”
“When I started up BrandContent less than three years ago after a lifetime in in-house roles, I had an ambition to create a different sort of agency. BrandContent is a new breed of content marketing agency so while we deliver public relations, our expertise lies across the content spectrum and how best to engage with audiences.”
“At BrandContent we pride ourselves on being an experienced team of hand-picked specialists so we can offer our clients senior-level executives with decades worth of relevant experience and proven expertise, who are committed to leading strategy-led marketing communications.”
Justin Beddows, head of consumer PR for Admiral said:
“Admiral is looking to refresh its external comms to communicate all the innovations that are going on within the business and raise awareness of our new products as well as core insurance offerings. We were really impressed with BrandContent’s approach to the brief, they demonstrated they go the extra mile and their creative ideas and the team’s enthusiasm and commitment to service shone through. We’re excited about the new campaigns for Admiral.”
BrandContent, which was founded by Sharon Flaherty in 2014, is based in Cardiff, with a hand-picked team of senior Content, Social and PR specialists.
