UK’s leading environmental consultancy, Thomson Environmental Consultants, welcomes two new positions to its Manchester and Cardiff branches.

Rosy Benbow joined the Cardiff branch as Principal Ecological Consultant, bringing a wide breadth of experience from Biodiversity Net Gain to breeding bird surveys and will support the Cardiff team manager in delivering on existing project commitments and initiating new leads for business in Wales and the South West of England.

Former News Editor of the Royal Horticultural Society, Dr Martin Page, has joined the company as the Regional Manager and Principal Ecologist in Manchester to bolster the consultancy’s botanical skills while driving the expansion of the Manchester team.

The consultancy, which specialises in environmental compliance, also recently unveiled a new branch in East Anglia, strengthening its presence in the UK.

The appointments and expansion follow a series of contract wins, including rail and highway upgrade schemes, habitat monitoring for Natural England, and biodiversity net gain assessments for various strategic developments.

Thomson Environmental Consultants’ new Chief Operating Officer (COO) Lucy Hunt and former COO at Environment Agency, said of the appointments:

“Our commitment to excellence is reinforced by our focus on recruiting and nurturing local expertise within our team, which strongly emphasises regional specialisms. We are a people business and continue to invest in attracting and retaining the very best talent in the sector. These key hires are no exception and extend the capabilities and capacity of the business as a leading independent consultancy.”
