Fintech start-up Delio, is looking to recruit 30 new staff members over the next two years at its headquarters in Cardiff.
The tech company, established in February 2015, was named in the Welsh Government’s Digital Dozen and “one to watch” and specialises in providing financial institutions with investment platforms to connect their high net worth individuals within the private asset market.
Following an extremely successful first eighteen months, the institution-driven company is recruiting for a range of roles including software development professionals, DevOps specialists, testing support experts and experienced marketers.
To support this key recruitment drive within the sector, Delio is partnering with leading recruiter Acorn’s specialist IT & Digital Recruitment Division, who are well known for supporting the employment strategies of tech start-up companies in the capital city.
Gareth Lewis, Co-Founder of Delio, said:
“This is such an exciting time for the company, as we are effectively quadrupling the size of our team.
“We’re in the process of expanding our reach across Europe, with a desire to break into Middle East and Asia, where there is a strong appetite for direct investing amongst high net worth clients. After a great year, we are now at a point where we need to increase the skills and resources we have on board to ensure we continue to develop our offering.
“New client propositions in the high net worth space have been few and far between over the past two decades. This has been a barrier for financial institutions that has prevented them from adapting to meet the evolving needs of their clients.
“Delio is uniquely positioned to deliver technological innovation with purpose, which fundamentally overcomes the challenges being faced by financial institutions in the private asset space today.”
“Being a high growth fintech business, we have looked to build a culture that is empowering, fast moving and exciting. We have high ambitions and need great people to help us achieve these. Recognising that no two people are the same, we look to work with our growing team to align interests and make sure that Delio is a business people truly want to be a part of.
“South Wales is a hi-tech IT hub and being head-quartered in Cardiff means we are in a prime position to tap into specialist technical talent, and I’m really pleased to be partnering with Dave Sadler and his specialist IT recruitment team at Acorn, who I know have years of experience supporting high growth companies like mine.”
In recent years, Wales has developed a reputation for excellence in both the tech and financial sectors. Recent figures show that over 25,000 people work in these sectors, contributing over £2 billion a year to the economy. Research has also shown that the sector is to continue growing at a rapid rate until 2020 – over twice as fast as the average employment growth in Wales.
Head of IT Contract Recruitment at Acorn, Pavan Arora is spearheading Delio’s recruitment plans and said:
“Acorn is continuing to act as the go-to recruiter for establishing new technology teams and we are delighted to have been retained by Delio.
“The FinTech sector is an incredibly buoyant market in South Wales, and Delio’s plans further boosts the prospects of IT and Digital professionals in Wales who seek well remunerated positions working on ground breaking technology that distributes traditional financial service offerings.
“Delio is fuelled by the changing needs of high net worth investors, they build a web-based software solution that is truly innovative and market changing. With the best use of technology tools being deployed it is both a challenging and exciting work environment to be within, as well as a team culture that is second to none locally.”
Acorn’s IT Division is one of many specialist sectors Acorn works in. Other industries include Legal, Executive Search, Finance, Nursing & Healthcare, Driving, Contact Centre, Engineering, Construction and Technical, all of which offer expert recruitment support across the UK.
