Finance Awards Wales has kicked off for 2019, with confirmation of one of its principal sponsors.
As part of their Vibrant Economy Wales Campaign, Grant Thornton, Cardiff, have signed up to partner the 2019 Awards, building on their association with the awards over the past year.
Rhian Owen of Grant Thornton sees this as a major opportunity to discover and celebrate new and emerging talent, as well as applaud the work of the thousands of Finance professionals across Wales.
“The inaugural Finance Awards provided the ideal opportunity to showcase the talent we have here in Wales. More importantly, they were well supported with highly credible entries from across the Welsh finance sector and judged by reputable industry professionals. As a firm, Grant Thornton’s purpose is to create a vibrant economy, which supports growth, innovation and a sense of purpose. We believe these awards align well to our firm’s ethos. I am therefore delighted to announce our commitment to sponsor the FD categories for the 2019 Awards”.
Matt Hyde, MD of Finance Awards Wales is delighted to welcome Grant Thornton to this key role.
“We’re delighted that Grant Thornton are continuing to partner with us for this coming year. They’ve been with us on the journey so far and share our passion and commitment to continue to invest in Finance talent across Wales”.
Now in its second year, Finance Awards Wales will continue to recognise, attract and invest in the talented Finance community across Wales. Nominations will open this Autumn, for 15 categories, including an exciting new award for Corporate Finance Team of the year. This year’s judging panel will include veterans Ken Poole, Mark Tweed, Mike Fowler and Emma Peterson as well as some new additions yet to be announced. Following the success of last year’s glittering ceremony, shortlisted nominations will have the opportunity attend the ceremony in Cardiff’s City Hall, during April 2019.
