Shellfish Centre Conference Venue Cymru, Llandudno
We have, in the UK, the potential to increase the supply of high-quality healthy shellfish food products, that are capable of delivering economic growth opportunities in coastal communities, while providing invaluable ecosystem services.
The opportunities for shellfish production are significant but so are the challenges. The industry is at a pivotal point as it faces a complex external landscape; the quality of our coastal waters, restrictions on access to space for expansion, and a regulatory environment that limits access to valuable markets.
This conference brings together perspectives, on the challenges and the opportunities, from the research community, industry and regulators, with invited speakers from across Wales, the UK and internationally.
Our aim is to identify pathways for future collaboration, to chart a way forward to help realise a sustainable, productive future.
Registration also includes a conference dinner on the 9th of November at Dylan’s Restaurant in Llandudno, where we will enjoy local produce from across North Wales.
Please note, places are limited due to the capacity of the venue so please confirm your attendance through the Eventbrite form when registering for your ticket.
Further information regarding travel to and from Venue Cymru can be found here.
If you’re unable to attend the conference in person, please join us online!
The conference will be also held on Zoom, where you’ll be able to watch every talk and engage in the discussions (a Zoom link will be shared with you closer to the event date).
The Shellfish Centre RD&I operation is part-funded by the EU’s West Wales and the Valleys European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme through the Welsh Government.
