Chepstow-based SD Sealants on Course for a Record Breaking Year

2015 Set to Seal SD’s Place as Leading Sealant and Cosmetic Repairs Specialists

2015 is on course to be a record-breaking year for SD Sealants & Cosmetic Repairs, as demand for its sealant application and cosmetic surface repairs services continue to grow.

For three consecutive years the company has bucked the declining trend of the construction industry, with turnover increasing year on year. At the halfway point of the 2015 financial year, SD’s cosmetic surface repairs service turnover has already passed last year’s turnover figure by 10% percent.

The business, which was established in 1973, added cosmetic surface repairs to its offering in 2013, and subsequently saw group turnover increase by 25 percent in 12 months.

SD’s sealant application service has also grown impressively, in 2014 turnover increased by 10 percent, and this year turnover is expected to grow by another 10%.

Nick Jones, Managing Director of SD, said:

“The last three years have been incredibly successful for SD. Our cosmetic surface repairs service has been very popular across the UK and continues to be a growing division of our business.

“It is also very satisfying to see our traditional sealant application service continue to perform strongly, placing us as the UK’s leading sealant service. Our professionalism and experience in the market has been a big contributor in attracting new clients, and retaining our work with current contractors.”

The company’s growth can largely be attributed to its commitment to working any site across the UK. The company completes over 90,000 projects every year, and has opened numerous offices in the last 24 months. With the demand for its services continuing to increase, SD is looking for new members to join its teams throughout the UK.

SD currently has vacancies for mastic applicators and cosmetic surface repair technicians, as well as opportunities for trainee mastic applicators who will be given full training leading to NVQ2 qualification in Mastic Application.

Nick added:

“With the growth of our services we now have more opportunities to expand our teams across the UK, and we are actively encouraging people to send their CV’s to us.”

SD’s workforce is reputed to be at the top of its industry – all SD employees are experienced, CSCS registered and as a minimum are qualified to NVQ Levels 2 or 3.The company’s vacancy page can be found here .

SD regularly works with a wide variety of well-known construction companies including BAM, Balfour Beatty, Willmott Dixon, Mace, Sir Robert McAlpine and Morgan Sindall.
