Cardiff Care Home Shortlisted as Wales Care Home of the Year

Care UK’s Llys Cyncoed, on Cyncoed Road, has been shortlisted for ‘Regional Care Home of the Year Midlands and Wales’ in the Caring UK awards.

The Caring UK awards celebrate excellence in the care industry and pay tribute to the care home teams making an outstanding contribution to caring for older people.

The Llys Cyncoed team received praise for their resident-centred approach to care with care plans constantly evolving with each resident’s needs.

Each day the dining team provide delicious, nutritious food. The choice and diversity of the menu is driven from feedback from residents to ensure that they are offered meals they want.

The team were also complimented on the warm and welcoming atmosphere, where everyone feels proud to work and live in the home.

The judges noted the teams extensive training which is backed-up with monthly supervisions and continuing professional development. Regular audits ensure the highest quality of service across all departments and the home has excellent working relationships with CIW Inspectors as well as Public Health Wales and Cardiff Council.

Designed to enable residents to live active and fulfilled lives, while also promoting independence, Llys Cyncoed incorporates space for hobby and leisure activities. The building has been configured into a series of neighbourhoods to help facilitate the creation of close-knit communities and encourage social interaction among the residents.
