Your Pontypridd Business Improvement District (BID) is delighted to announce the installation of a large Digital Advertising & Information screen in Taff Street Pontypridd.
The almost 4 metre by 2 metre screen will be the first digital screen in Rhondda Cynon Taf and will be proudly located about the EE Phone shop at 110 Taff Street in Pontypridd.
The screen will mainly offer advertising, but will also be used to promote the Business Improvement Districts work and the wide range of events that happen in Pontypridd through the year. The long term goal is to make the screen interactive for those visiting Pontypridd town centre.
And with Pontypridd lying at the heart of the Capital City Region and the opportunities this will bring to the town in the next decade was one of several reasons that the screen was approved.
Victoria Pulman, BID Manager said
‘We’re excited that the screen will soon be live and we’re really pleased to be the first Welsh BID to install a Digital Advertising Screen and lead the way in Wales in such an important sector.
The screen is a signature project for us at the BID to showcase the fantastic range of new and long standing businesses our BID Area has to offer and provide premium exposure at affordable prices to all businesses while also complimenting Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council’s investment and belief in Pontypridd’s future as a key place to live, work and socialise.
Business Improvement Districts were introduced to help improve the local business environment, increase footfall and promote events in the towns and cities and a digital advertising screen ticks all of these boxes and fits into our aims of raising the profile of the town and increasing the number of people who come to Pontypridd by showing the range of businesses, products and services that are here.’
Your Pontypridd has worked with SSC Europe Limited, a Swansea company who are dedicated to technological innovation in a wide range of Digital Signage and LED Lighting applicatons. Their mission is to provide affordable state-of-the-art LED technology and Pontypridd are the first to adopt such digital technology outside of Cardiff.
An SSC Europe spokesperson said,
“SSC Europe Limited are delighted to be working with Your Pontypridd BID to install the first digital signage outlet in their town centre. The digital screen will have tremendous benefits for the community. As well as advertising local events, the screen will generate revenue from advertising which will then be reinvested back into the community. Pontypridd have embraced this innovative initiative and we are extremely excited to be working with such a forward thinking BID company.”
With Digital Advertising becoming increasingly important and popular for Welsh businesses the BID recognised the importance for Pontypridd and Rhondda Cynon Taf to make sure both are well placed to fully take advantage of these opportunities and the digital screen is the first step.
The Digital Screen will be installed by SSC Europe and tested in early January and officially launched by the Your Pontypridd BID at the end of January of 2019. BID levy payers in Pontypridd Town Centre will also be placed into a monthly draw, two businesses will be selected each month and will recieve two weeks of free advertising giving their business maximum exposure in the centre of the town.
