Wrexham-Based Acorn Recruitment Branch Helps Raise Vital Funds for Kenyan Tribe

Staff at the Wrexham branch of UK-wide specialist recruiter Acorn recently showed their dedication to a struggling Kenyan tribe by supporting a charity fundraising evening.

Held at Brymbo Cricket Club in Wrexham on the 21st of August, the charity event raised   crucial funds, providing essential supplies including mosquito nets and long-life food to aid the Kenyan Masai Tribe. The event raised an impressive £1,300, including £450 which was donated by a Mr William Davies, for a luxury 4-ball at Chepstow-based St Pierre Golf Club and a bottle of Champagne, a prize donated by Acorn.

Victoria Huxley, Managing Consultant at Acorn’s Wrexham Branch: “The evening was a fantastic success with live music, face painting, raffle prizes, a silent auction and even a bouncy castle! Everyone really got involved on the evening and the team involved raised an amazing amount which will be used to purchase much needed supplies for the Masai Tribe.”

Amy Jones, a social care worker and Candice Fitzgerald, a senior residential social care worker will be travelling to Kenya as part of the fundraising initiative. They said:

“we feel extremely grateful to everyone who came together to help us with our cause, raising such a fantastic amount in the process. We are so proud that we have been able to put on such an amazing event, thanks to Acorn and their fabulous prize, which really boosted our total.”
