Work Starts in Newport on the UK’s First Proton Beam Therapy Centre

Proton Partners International has started work at the site where the first Proton Beam Therapy cancer treatment centre will be built in the UK.

The centre at Celtic Springs Business Park in Newport is due to be operational next year.

Senior management from Proton Partners International and a team from Philips, which has been appointed to deliver software and technology tools to all three of the centres planned for the UK have started work at the Newport site.

Mike Moran, chief executive officer of Proton Partners International Ltd., said: “Today is a major milestone for our plans for the UK but also for cancer treatment.
