Civil Engineer, Amy Beacham of WSP takes the role for 2021/2022

Women in Property has announced its incoming South Wales Chair for 2021/22.  Amy Beacham takes the role as regional head of the property and construction industry influencer and networking organisation for the next year.

Amy, who has been a member of Women in Property for five years, is Associate Director of WSP in Cardiff, where she specialises in Development Infrastructure.

The organisation sees the year ahead as providing opportunities for individuals and businesses to build upon and re-establish networks that have paused over the last 12 turbulent months.

Amy said,

“We recognise that a career in the construction industry can be daunting for women and that over the last year, responsibilities outside the workplace have made advancement in the industry more challenging.

“We intend to redress the balance through networking and collaboration within the industry, and through providing mentoring, support and training. Careers need to be brought back on track and we will be helping people to meet their goals and influence decisions whilst promoting inclusion and diversity.”

Women in Property has also announced its Vice Chair for 2021/22.  Rhiannon Peploe-Williams is an Associate at Blake Morgan in Cardiff, where she specialises in Real Estate.  Rhiannon will support Amy over the course of the next year before becoming Chair in 2022.

Since the pandemic started early in 2020, Women in Property has continued to support members, transferring CPD, informal events and mentoring online.  The South Wales branch has run eight events, ranging from a panel discussion by the team that delivered the Grange University Hospital exploring modern methods of construction, to a virtual cook along with One Mile Bakery, all of which are available across the national platform.

Amy will hold the role of South Wales branch Chair until 28th February 2022.
