Welshpool-based manufacturer, Wipak UK, has been awarded silver accreditation by Investors in People – a recognised international standard for people management.

The company, which is one of the UK’s leading suppliers of flexible packaging solutions to the food industry, received the prestigious accreditation following a thorough four-week-long assessment, which included evidence gathering, observations, an all-staff survey and individual employee interviews.

“Only 20% of the organisations assessed by Investors in People achieve silver accreditation, so we are delighted with this result,” said Managing Director of Wipak UK, Andrew Newbold.

“It means that we have the right principles in place, but more than that, it shows that employees throughout the business are able to demonstrate leadership qualities, make active efforts to achieve high performance and can aspire to reach their full potential .”

Paul Devoy, CEO of Investors in People, said:

“We’d like to congratulate Wipak UK. Silver accreditation is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places Wipak UK in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.

“We believe that the success of an organisation begins and ends with people. If we make work better for everyone, we make work better for every organisation. And if we do that… we make society stronger, healthier and happier,” Paul concluded.

15,000 organisations across 75 countries have been awarded Investors in People accreditation and are dedicated to make work better.
