As the summer holidays begin, Cabinet Secretary for the Economy and Infrastructure, Ken Skates will see new activities in north Wales which will add to Wales’ offering during year of Adventure 2016. And the Economy Secretary’s visit also marks the start of the latest phase of Visit Wales marketing campaign to promote Wales as an adventure destination.

Zip World Fforest, Betws-y-Coed LL24 0HA
Cabinet Secretary for the Economy and Infrastructure, Ken Skates will visit Zip World Fforest, ahead of the opening of a new attraction to the public on Saturday. Treetop Nets is Zip World’s latest adventure to add to its growing portfolio of adventure attractions in north Wales which includes the fastest Zip Wire in the world and a unique subterranean playground with trampoline like nets and zip lines. Business owner, Sean Taylor is feeling confident for what the future holds as the new Alpine Coaster for Zip World Fforest has recently been granted planning permission. Recent tourism figures also show that tourism in Wales is in a strong position with the industry feeling confident ahead of the summer holidays. The Visit Wales Epic summer campaign also launches on Thursday.

Visit Wales has arranged for the production of a 4 metre-high set of letters forming the word ‘EPIC’ to be placed strategically in key, rural and strategic locations around Wales. The tour will begin at Pen y Gwryd on Thursday and will be launched by Wales’ Year of Adventure Ambassadors – Richard Parks and Maria Leijertsam who will be accompanied by Ash Dykes, North Wales Adventurer and world record holder and Jo Denison – female head coach at Surf Snowdonia.
