A national engineering company specialising in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance of all types of Industrial Doors and Shutters, Steel Fabrication, Lift Gates and Shutters, Industrial Roofing and Structural Glazing has signed a three-year lease on a 2,000 sqft unit on Severnbridge Industrial Estate in Caldicot.

Eight engineers with fully equipped vans will be based from Caldicot. The unit will provide Welding Engineers Limited with a regional office to service and manage their growing client base in Wales and the South West of England that includes facility management companies, railway operators, industrial, retail and the private sector. The company will also be utilising the workshop space to fabricate bespoke parts and products and to provide a fast response for breakdowns and repairs on client sites.

welding-engineersEstablished in Glasgow in 1966, Welding Engineers employs 220 staff throughout their network of seven branches Steve Taylor of Welding Engineers explained why the company chose the unit in Caldicot, he said,

“For a number of years our client base in this region has been gradually increasing. Our products are used by businesses primarily involved in service based industries and time is of the essence when things break down which can be extremely frustrating and costly to them and their clients. Naturally we offer a full survey and technical support service, with our team of trained surveyors and engineers on hand to provide advice and support to our client base. We undertake all work ourselves and do not sub-contract therefore we need to be based close to our clients and the new Caldicot branch will enable us to be there quickly.”

Lauren Patterson, M4 Property Consultants managed the lease of the unit on behalf of the landlord and said,

“Units of this size are increasingly popular in the Caldicot region due to their versatility of use and location in terms of access to the motorway network. Welding Engineers were quick to register their interest before completing the deal. They made a few alterations to the unit before moving in and they now have the Welsh branch of their business they wanted.”
