Showcasing the Best of Welsh Business

Wales’ Newest Innovation Hub Opens in Penarth

A brand new innovation hub is due to open this Spring in Penarth. Tec Marina plans to be home to approximately 200 workers from forward-thinking organisations, start-ups and freelancers. The 20,000 square foot building, located in Penarth Marina consists of 22 office spaces, 15 co-working desks, 6 meeting/event rooms, break-out seating areas, 2 canteens, an onsite gym and a large atrium.

Development Interior Shot 1The man behind the project is serial entrepreneur Chris Griffiths. Chris is the founder and CEO of global innovative training and software company, OpenGenius. The company has been based in South Wales for the last decade but Chris has struggled to find a unique home for his business.

“We wanted a space that would complement our creative values and vision. Last year we decided to stop searching and build our own innovative and inspiring work space and open it up to like-minded businesses that share our way of thinking”, says Chris.

Chris has invested in first class technology and wellness perks to improve the working days of its users. 80” touchscreens are available in meeting rooms and will be fitted with Chris’ own mind mapping and project management software. A fitted mobile access system will provide residents with high levels of office security, only allowing those from their own organization to enter with a shake of their smartphone. All Tec Marina residents will have full access to onsite gym facilities, exercise classes, a gaming room and unlimited premium hot drinks.

As well as being a stimulating workplace for its residents, Tec Marina will become a venue that celebrates innovation and supports the growing entrepreneurial community of Wales through its regular networking events, business seminars and training days.

Tours of the building are available for those interested in using the space and Tec Marina is due to officially launch this Spring – / [email protected]
