M&J (Europe) LTD recently announced its £600k expansion programme. The engineering firm based in Tredegar are overseeing ambitious plans to grow and Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is working with the company to offer business support.
The company has been established in the area for over 25 years has recently invested £600k (including funding from the Welsh Government and UK Steel Enterprise) for their expansion plans. They are at the forefront of innovation, design and manufacture of conveyor specialist equipment with a special interest in the food, pharmaceutical and oil industry offering precision and general engineering services.
Over the years the company has received financial support from the Local Investment Fund administered by Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council and has continued to grow and invest in its workforce and skills development.
Blaenau Gwent’s Aspire team has been working with the company since 2015. The business is one of the host employers for the apprenticeship training programme with an apprentice currently following a mechanical engineering learning pathway assessed through Coleg Y Cymoedd. M&J is a supportive host employer and the apprentice receives additional in house training to enhance his skills and experience to become a qualified mechanical engineer.
