The Vale Resort Invests in Conference Suite Refurbishment

The Vale Resort has invested £50,000 in refurbishing one of its conference suites as part of its ongoing commitment to provide first-class facilities for the business and corporate markets.

The Castle Suite is the Vale Resort’s largest function room and provides conferencing facilities for up to 700 delegates theatre style and 420 for a banquet or dinner.

The suite takes its name from the panoramic views overlooking the 17th Century Hensol Castle and rolling countryside viewed from the imposing floor to ceiling windows (five and half metres high) at either end of the room, bathing it in natural daylight.

Paul Beddoe, sales and marketing director at the Vale Resort, said:

“The conference and event market is an important revenue stream for the Vale Resort, currently representing 35% of our business, so it’s important to not only meet the expectations of our delegates, but exceed them.

“The first guest to enjoy the newly refurbished suite was Warren Gatland, the Wales national rugby team coach, for his farewell dinner, and we’ve got a host of other corporate events already booked in for the upcoming conference season.”

Those already booked in for 2019/2020 include Spar International residential conference, Flogas residential conference, DVLA Auction and Healthcare Financial Management Association.

The investment included just under 1,000 square feet of carpet and 96 rolls of wallpaper. It follows hot on the heels of a £500,000 upgrade in each of the resort’s 143 bedrooms that was completed last year.

Mr Beddoe added:

“We are committed to providing the best quality we can for our guests to enjoy. The refurbishment of our Castle Suite is just one in an on-going programme of investment that we continue to make across the estate.”

The Castle Suite is just one of 15 state-of-the-art function rooms across the Vale Resort, which can accommodate anything from 10 to 700 delegates. In addition, the 17th Century Hensol Castle, which is situated in the grounds of the Vale Resort, can host up to 320 delegates theatre style in its Courtyard Hall.
