The Inaugural Wales Legal Awards Recognise the Best in the Sector

Friday evening saw the winners of the inaugural Wales Legal Awards announced at a lavish ceremony held at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff with over 420 guests attending.

Established by boutique firm Lux Family Law in partnership with Grapevine Event Management and the Wales Fast Growth 50, the new awards celebrated the excellence to be found in all parts of the legal community including claimant law, corporate and commercial, employment, property and construction, residential and conveyancing, and commercial litigation.

A sold-out dinner saw a total of fifty finalists from thirty different legal businesses across Wales compete for awards in sixteen different categories. The Wales Legal Team of the Year was awarded to Acuity Law, while the outstanding Contribution to the Welsh legal profession went to Alan Meredith, former managing partner at Eversheds.

Commenting on the winner of the Outstanding Contribution award, Professor Dylan Jones-Evans OBE, chairman of the judging panel, said
