In a mix of brand-new programmes and series the Welsh Language pubcaster hopes that the balance between entertainment and documentaries will hit the right spot with viewers. As the channel had to rebuild its schedule during the last few months due to the pandemic, these new commission will have a fresh and timely appeal and will reflect the world as it stands now for the people of Wales.

“The focus is on reflecting this period in time, as the public adjust to easing lockdown rules and look towards the future.”

says Director of S4C Content, Amanda Rees.

“We don’t want to fill our schedule with covid themed programmes; however, we do need to be at the helm of topical discussions looking at the effects of this pandemic.  We have a role to inform and engage with our factual docs but also to comfort and raise a smile with our heart-warming entertainment programmes.

We’re proud to be able to bring a jam-packed schedule full of new and exciting content to the screen in September. Our content has been carefully planned to be timely and to engage with our audience. Series such as Gwyliau Gartre will look at the benefits of holidaying at home, a historical series will look at the treasures of the National Trust in Wales, Hinsawdd Covid look at how the pandemic has benefitted the environment while there will be also plenty of fun programmes focusing on cooking, dogs, fishing and the outdoors. There’s certainly something for everyone!”
