Taff Housing Association has been named a top UK landlord in trade magazine 24Housing’s annual listing, thanks to nominations from its peers in the housing sector.

The highly competitive ‘Top 50’ list sees hundreds of organisations from across the United Kingdom apply, and this year Taff has made the top 50 as decided by experts from across the housing sector.

Taff made the listing for their commitment to Leadership and working differently.  As early adopters of restorative and trauma informed approaches in their two hostels for homeless young women, they found that even small changes around rules, environment and staff roles had a huge impact, reducing evictions by 40% and notices by half.  In response to the welfare reform change, Taff’s rent team trialed ‘nudge theory’ which resulted in a 700% increased rent collection rate.

Whilst their business plan , ‘Building Foundations for Better Futures’ provides clarity of vision and common purpose Leadership does not just happen at the top., Both tenants and employees of Taff are supported along their individual careers paths.

Elaine Ballard, Taff Housing’s Chief Executive, said:

‘It’s a delight to be featured on this highly prestigious list, and that our commitment to building foundations for better futures is recognised as what sets us apart from other social landlords.’
