Swansea Bay Business Club to Welcome Alun Cairns as Guest Speaker

Swansea Bay Business Club has continued its tradition of providing outstanding speakers as well as stellar networking opportunities by announcing Alun Cairns MP, Secretary of State for Wales as the guest speaker at their upcoming July lunch.

The lunch, sponsored by Acorn Executive Search, will be held at the Margam Orangery on Friday July 14th where the Conservative party politician will discuss the current political climate in Wales, his party’s recent win at the general election and the future for Welsh businesses post-brexit.

President of Swansea Bay Business Club, Hayley Davies, said:

“We are delighted to be welcoming Alun as a guest speaker, especially at a time when politics is so high on the agenda throughout the country. Alun is one of Wales’ most senior politicians and I’m sure that his talk will be fascinating for all of our guests.”

Alun was first elected as an Assembly Member in 1999 after beginning his career working for Lloyds TSB. He was made Member of Parliament for the Vale of Glamorgan in May 2010 and became the Secretary of State for Wales in March 2016, overseeing the passing of legislation that is only for Wales and ensuring Welsh interests are taken in to account by Government.

Hayley continued:

“After returning to West Wales for our June lunch we are looking forward to venturing further east to the Margam Orangery as we continue with our aim of expanding the business club and welcoming new members from across the Swansea Bay region.

“As the last event of the summer, we would encourage local business people to book early as we anticipate tickets will sell out quickly. Our networking calendar will continue in September with our first business breakfast of the year.”

Tickets are available to purchase from the Swansea Bay Business Club website, they are priced at £25 for members and £30.50 for non-members. This will include a two-course lunch and a drinks reception sponsored by Contract Services Group.

Guests are asked to arrive by 12:15 for a 1 pm lunch.
