Swansea-based Mrs Bucket Cleaning Services has been shortlisted as a finalist for the Welsh Business Awards 2016 by the South Wales Chamber of Commerce.
Founder Rachael Flanagan is shortlisted in the ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ category after starting the business aged 18 with just a vacuum cleaner and £20 which she spent on promotional flyers.
Over the last decade, Mrs Bucket has grown from a one-woman domestic cleaning company into a full-service domestic and commercial cleaning company with offices in Swansea, Cardiff, Newport and Bristol, 300 employees and over 250 domestic and commercial clients.
The company, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, grew by 52 percent last year, with turnover reaching £2.5 million.
The Welsh Business Awards are organised by the South Wales Chamber of Commerce, and aim to recognise the very best from businesses across Wales. They celebrate success, excellence in best practice and the contribution Welsh businesses make to the wider community.
“We are thrilled to be shortlisted in these awards and I am honoured to be a finalist for the Young Entrepreneur of the Year category. 2015 was a fantastic year for us and 2016 has already got off to a great start.
“During the last year, we won several high profile new contract wins, hired a divisional manager, area managers and cleaning staff, and have even expanded across the bridge into England for the first time, with our recently opened Bristol office.
“I’m looking forward to the awards dinner later this month and to progressing our plans for the year ahead.”
In addition to the Welsh Business Awards 2016, Mrs Bucket is also a finalist in the Professional Services category of the Cardiff Life Awards, following unprecedented growth for its Cardiff office.
The Cardiff Life Awards are organised by Cardiff Life magazine, and are one of Cardiff’s most prestigious, high profile, and deeply sought after business awards.
