Leading law firm GHP Legal has appointed a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners (STEP) to its busy private client department in Wrexham.

Senior Solicitor Lisa Jones brings a wealth of experience to the department. As a member of STEP her combination of specialist qualifications and experience provide for her significant involvement with planning, creation, management of and accounting for trusts and estates, executorship administration and related taxes.

STEP members come from a range of different professional backgrounds including accountancy, banking, finance, law and taxation, but what they all have in common is advising families on how best to structure their finances to ensure compliance and preserve their assets for future generations.

Working on behalf of individuals, farmers and business owners, the scope of Lisa’s work in estate administration at GHP Legal will also cover more complex matters where inheritance tax is payable and reliefs such as agricultural property, business property and the residence nil rate band are necessary to claim. In addition she is widely experienced in setting up trusts for personal injury compensation.

Speaking about her appointment with GHP Legal, Lisa said:

“In my new role I will be dealing with all areas of private client work. This includes the preparation of wills and lasting powers of attorney, inheritance tax and lifetime planning, estate administration, the creation and administration of trusts and deputyship applications. But one of the most rewarding parts of my job as a STEP specialist is helping people at difficult and emotional times, such as after the death of a close family member.”
