Organised by the business support team at Torfaen Economy & Enterprise within Torfaen council, this annual event, now in its 7th year, provides an opportunity to celebrate the contribution that women make to the business community and attracts women from across the south east Wales region.

The event takes place on Wednesday 23rd October 2019  (4:30pm – 7:30pm ) at the Parkway Hotel, Cwmbran. The packed evening will feature networking, high tea, trade tables and inspiring speakers – Hayley Hanson and Kelly Davies.

Hayley, based in mid Wales, has developed a  business supplying  the world’s only Welsh leather and hide across the UK and internationally, diversifying in 2016 to incorporate a range of luxury leather products and further in December 2018 to incorporate  a more affordable range of fabric products with a leather trim. She aims to be, by 2021, firmly established as the supplier of the best leather in the world, and making beautiful things for practical people. At the event Hayley will be interviewed by Lee Morgan, Business Growth Enabler at Natwest Bank about how she developed her business, the challenges along the way, the ethos of sustainability within the business and her future focus.

Attendees at the event will also hear from experienced local business woman, Kelly Davies. Kelly, who was a weapons engineer for 12 years in the Royal Navy whilst running her own beautician business  and who is currently a lecturer in  engineering at Crosskeys College, will talk about how she has succeeded  within these diverse cultures.

As in previous years the event  also  supports a worthy cause and this year all delegate ticket proceeds will be going towards the new specialist centre of excellence for breast care service at Ystrad Mynach Hospital (Aneurin Bevan University Health Board).

Women who run their own business, work in a management role within  a business or organisation or who are thinking of setting up an enterprise are welcome to attend what promises to be another successful Torfaen Women in Business event.

Individual delegate tickets priced at just £12.00 (including VAT) are still available for booking at  www.southwalesbusiness.co.uk.
