South Wales Housebuilders Celebrate Awards Success

Two site managers in South Wales are celebrating success in a prestigious national industry awards scheme this year.

Dave Crisp, who oversees construction at Bellway’s Highfields development, in Old St Mellons, Cardiff, and Keith Parsons, who’s responsible for the new homes at Monks Meadow, in Llanwern, Newport, have both won National House-Building Council (NHBC) Pride in the Job Quality Awards.

The awards are the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards in house-building.

Dave said:

“I’m really honoured to have won a Pride in the Job award as it shows the really high quality of workmanship on the new homes at Highfields and the attention to detail put in by everyone working on site.”

Keith said:

“It takes a real team effort to win one of these and I’d like to thank the whole team at Monks Meadow for their hard work and support over the last year.

“It’s great to win an award, but it’s even better to see happy customers moving in – buying a house is probably the biggest thing people will ever buy, so it’s really important we get things right!”

Dave and Keith are no strangers to awards success. Keith won Quality Awards in both 2017 and 2015, while Dave was a previous winner in 2016.

This year they are among 450 winners of Quality Awards, selected from around 16,000 site managers across the UK.

Judging for the awards is meticulous, beginning a year before the announcement of the first round of winners. As well as undergoing spot checks of the day-to-day running of their site, each site manager is assessed across 44 areas of site management, including their technical knowledge, consistency in the build process and the quality controls they have in place.

Following the announcement of the first-round winners in June, all successful site managers are invited to attend the Regional Award ceremonies held in the autumn and go on to compete for a Seal of Excellence and Regional Award in their relevant category.
