Redrow’s South Wales division is celebrating after scooping two national awards at the Flintshire-headquartered premium housebuilder’s annual conference.

The Customer Conference is attended by all colleagues and focuses on the combined efforts of the regional construction, sales and customer services teams throughout England and Wales to serve Redrow customers.

Its 14 divisions compete for awards including Construction Division of the Year and the coveted Customer Team of the Year, which comprises construction, sales and customer service, both of which were won by the South Wales division this year.

The latter was awarded to the team at Plas Ty Draw, one of Redrow’s developments in Lisvane, Cardiff. This year the conference was online and so the team had taken part in a film they had believed was about teamwork and customer service but that was used to accompany their surprise award announcement.

MD of Redrow South Wales, Nigel Palmer, said the competition is fierce for these annual awards.

“Everyone at Redrow is totally customer-focused, from build through to after-sales service, with customer satisfaction regularly measured through various independent channels, so all our levels of customer service are consistently high,” he explained.

“These annual awards are the ones we all want to win – and to be named the clear winners in both these categories is a real feather in the cap for everyone in the south Wales division.”

Individual awards are also presented for sales consultant of the year and customer service employee of the year for each of the 13 divisions. Alun Williams, who lives in Nelson, and travels all over south Wales addressing any finishing touches Redrow customers require, was named customer service employee of the year for his dedication to “always getting the job done and leaving everything spotless”.

Nicola Porter from Cardiff was named sales consultant of the year in south Wales. Based at Churchlands, was inspired to join Redrow in 2016 after working for a local estate agent.

Nicola said:

“I spent several years selling older properties in Cardiff but always admired Redrow for their high quality build and great locations. I also knew that Redrow were known for their five-star service and commitment to people, both customers and staff. That’s why I took the opportunity to join the business and I haven’t looked back.

“I love my job and take real pride working for Redrow. It’s such an honour to help our customers to find their dream home and I never tire of handing over the keys – it’s such an exciting time for us all as we watch friendships form and communities thrive. I consider myself very fortunate to do the job that I do and to be part of the Redrow family. The award is just the icing on the cake.”

South Wales Sales Director Beverley Wookey said:

“Nicki is a real team player and a brilliant ambassador of our brand. Her warm and supportive personality means that she quickly bonds with customers and colleagues alike; mentoring and training more junior members of the team while always giving 100%. She’s a real asset to the business and we’re really looking forward to seeing her career develop with Redrow.”

Redrow is a leading UK premium housebuilder, proudly headquartered in Ewloe, Flintshire.

Established in 1974, it has earned a unique reputation for quality, building beautiful homes and communities, creating, in its words, a better way to live. It delivers for both investors and the wider community by centring all its activities around its three values of creating thriving communities by building responsibly and valuing people, all while engaging with colleagues and stakeholders.

Redrow is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 index. For the year to 27th June 2021, Redrow built more than 5,500 premium new homes across England and Wales and the Group reported revenue of £1.9bn.

Redrow directly employs well over 300 people across Wales, 15% of whom are trainees, graduates or apprentices, at its headquarters, regional offices and developments.

It takes responsibility seriously: last year, Redrow achieved the Global Good Company of the Year Silver award in recognition of its social impact and launched its ‘Nature for People’ biodiversity strategy, established as part of a long-standing partnership with the Wildlife Trusts. In June 2021, Redrow was included in the FT’s inaugural listing of Europe’s Climate Leaders for achieving significant reductions in its greenhouse gas emissions between 2014 and 2019.

Over the past year, Redrow has consistently been rated as ‘excellent’ on Trustpilot and once again achieved the Five Star Customer Satisfaction award from the Home Builders’ Federation (HBF). The company is also one of just eight UK construction companies to be named a Diversity Leader in the Financial Times’ inaugural list of European leaders for workplace diversity and inclusion.
