Smartpipe Solutions, an intelligent identification system for data-heavy businesses, has opened a software and development research centre in Cwmbran.
The new centre, based at Ty Coch, will create over 40 jobs for Welsh IT sector and has received £1 million business finance from the Welsh Government, £700k from Notion Capital, £500k from Finance Wales and a further £4 million from private investors.
The firm, which has its sales and marketing operations based in London, is in the process of developing new technology and hardware capable of enabling network operators to monetise their data in real time.
So far, it’s recruited 13 employees and is to take on more than 30 other IT specialists in 2016. On Monday, economy Minister Edwina Hart was joined by Smartpipe co-Founders Tobin Ireland and Tanya Field to open the centre.
