Specialist Financial Services and Tech content marketing agency, BrandContent has announced a record year, enjoying 53% sales growth and exceeding its profit target by 67% with no signs of slowing in its fourth year.
The announcement comes as the company bolsters its team with two key hires.
Former Deputy Head of Editorial at The Sunday Times Fast Track, Chris Marshall who was also previously editor at Citywire, joins the BrandContent team as Editor working with clients including the Welsh Government, Ageas, NFU Mutual and FairFX.
Chris will play a key role in boosting the agency’s tech client roster drawing on his 14-year track record of delivering performance driven editorial content for top tier tech and financial services brands. Chris is the founding member of BrandContent’s Oxford office.
Meanwhile, Siobhan Congreve joins the team as Head of SEO where she is responsible for voice search and managing multi-format SEO strategies for clients in the Tech and Financial Services industry. Siobhan is the founding member of BrandContent’s London office.
The appointments mean a wider regional footprint for Brandcontent which is headquartered in Cardiff with offices now in London, Oxford and Swindon which forms part of its 2018/2019 growth strategy.
The record year, new office openings and strategic hires boosting the team to 7 tops a successful year which has seen BrandContent enjoy 100% client retention, as well as winning 11 new clients and doubling the office size of its Cardiff headquarters.
The fast-growing list of clients working with BrandContent include FTSE 100-listed Admiral, AIM-lListed FairFX, Ageas, NFU Mutual, The Howard de Walden Estate, Welsh Government, NEST and a number of tech clients in the UK, Europe and the USA.
Financial services is one of Wales’ 9 priority sectors aiming to make Wales the most competitive region in the UK or financial and professional services outside London by 2021.
BrandContent has enjoyed a 100% success rate with award entries, scooping Outstanding Small Public Relations Consultancy at the PRCA PRIDE Awards for the last two years, along with winning Creative Start Up of the Year at the Wales Start Up Awards in 2017, and winning gongs for a number of media relations and consumer campaign awards.
Sharon Flaherty, founder and managing director at BrandContent and chair of PRCA Wales, set up the Cardiff-based agency after leaving Flintshire-based price comparison firm Moneysupermarket as its group head of communications.
Sharon Flaherty, Founder and Managing Director of BrandContent, said:
“Everything about BrandContent is underpinned by one core value; thinking big. We might be small, but we’re mighty and this is the attitude that’s winning us some of the biggest clients in the UK. BrandContent was started from a living room table with one woman on a mission to build an agency that served the financial services and tech industries but creatively! And after investments in specialist hires, training, new offices, and developing our own data-led methodology, we’re reaping the rewards.
“Financial services is one of Wales’ priority investment sectors and we are well positioned to benefit from this future sector growth.”
