Brenig Preest of Arthurian Life Sciences has been named as the top dealmaker in the Wales Dealmakers Awards 2016. Preest won for a stellar 12 months as fund manager for the Wales Life Sciences Investment Fund, which brought in more than £300m of co-investment during the period. Held at the Cardiff Marriott Hotel, the event was compèred by Jason Mohammad and attracted close to 250 of the country’s top dealmakers.
Corporate Acquirer of the Year
Veezu, a private hire taxi company, acquired Amber Cars and A1 Taxis in Leeds and Able Senator in the Midlands. Paul Ragan plans to make Veezu the UK leader in private hire taxis. These acquisitions were a key part of that ambition. “He’s really going for it,” said one judge.
