Paul Fosh Auctions has kept its position as the top selling auction house in Wales for a 12th year.

The Newport-based property auction house has again emerged as number one in the national auction league after selling 362 properties out of 518 offered at a total value of £28,547,101 at eight auctions in 2019, registering 70% sales of the lots offered.

The property auctions business had more than 25% share of the value of the entire number of properties sold at auction in Wales in 2019. The Newport firm’s closest competitor in the Wales chart sold 153 lots for £17,694,999 million during the same period.

The annual auction sales chart, a highly regarded guide within the industry, is compiled by UK industry experts Essential Information Group (EIG) and published in association with industry ‘Bible’, Estates Gazette.

Paul Fosh Auctions Managing Director, Paul Fosh, who again played host to BBC’s popular Homes Under the Hammer TV show at the Cardiff sales during 2019, said: “The past 12 months was again another really strong year for auction sales in Wales. The Paul Fosh Auctions team worked tirelessly as always, ensuring we remain top of the leader board. I am delighted with the excellent results we've managed to achieve and indeed maintain.”

Paul Fosh Auctions has continued to innovate, and this year introduced online auction sales and has developed its in-house rentals business. The business is also boosting the number of  commercial properties it offers for sale.

“We’ve performed extremely well over the past 12 years securing the top position for property sales in Wales each year. The first sale of 2020 was a huge success, selling 77% of the lots offered for a total of £4,538,000. This has undoubtedly set the tone for the rest of the year, with post-Brexit certainty removing any doubt for buyers and sellers alike.”

The next Paul Fosh Auctions ball room sale is on Thursday, March 19 at The Cardiff North Hotel, Circle Way East, Llanedeyrn, Cardiff, starting at 5pm.
