Acorns Nurseries has been named by parents as one of the Top 20 nursery groups in the UK. It has 10 nurseries in Cardiff and two in Bristol. Seven of its nurseries, six of these being in Cardiff, have also won individual awards. This includes BBC Wales Acorns which provides childcare for employees of BBC Wales and ONS Acorns Nursery for employees of ONS (Office for National Statistics).
Wales has 386 day nurseries.
The nurseries which won individual awards are: Acorns at USW Treforest, Acorns Duffryn, Acorns Whitchurch, BBC Wales Acorns, Baby Acorns Roath, Parc Nantgarw Acorns as well as Aviva Acorns in Bristol.
The top twenty nursery groups received an award from the leading day nurseries review site, daynurseries.co.uk, with the award based on the nursery group’s reviews from the children’s families and carers. Parents rated the group on overall standard, facilities and outside space, learning, resources and equipment and ICT, care, activities, staff, food and nutrition, management, cleanliness, safeguarding as well as value for money.
