Innovative STEM-based businesses across Wales have just one week left to get their entries into the highly anticipated Wales STEM Awards.

Businesses in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) sectors are being called to enter the inaugural awards before the nominations deadline closes on Friday 28th February.

The Wales STEM Awards have been launched to celebrate those making a difference to, and championing, the STEM industry in Wales.

It is hoped that by shouting about the great work being done in Wales, the awards will help address the STEM diversity gap and skills shortage, while also inspiring and raising aspirations of the next generation.

Businesses and individuals in the STEM arena are invited to submit entries for free across 15 categories, with those shortlisted then invited to attend the awards ceremony at Cardiff City Hall on May 1st.

On the call for nominations, founder of the awards Liz Brookes said: “We’ve only got one week to go until the inaugural Wales STEM Awards entry deadline closes. We are delighted with the number and calibre of organisations which have entered so far, but we don’t want anyone to miss out.

“If you want to nominate, you’ve got just one week to get in touch and ensure the business of your choice is recognised among the most progressive STEM organisations in Wales.

“So if you know of anyone making a real difference, it’s time to get your entries in.”

The Wales STEM Awards, organised by communications agency jamjar and Grapevine Event Management is being supported by headline sponsors GS Verde Group, which comprises law firm Greenaway Scott, corporate finance boutique Verde Corporate Finance, and patent attorney firm Alchemie IP.

Other sponsors include Airbus, Box UK, Cardiff Metropolitan University, CPS Group, Development Bank of Wales, Rolls-Royce, and Valero Energy. Business News Wales is also supporting the Wales Stem Awards as its media partner.

The recently announced nominated charity partner for the awards is Cancer Research Wales, which is dedicated to developing life-changing treatments, diagnostic techniques, and research for people with cancer.

The deadline for entries into the Wales STEM Awards close on 28th February 2020. For more information visit www.STEMAwards.Wales
