Lewis Pies expands team with new role
The Lewis Pies and Pasty Company, one of the largest pie and pasty manufacturers in the UK, has boosted its team through hiring a Continuous Improvement manager, a newly created role for the business.
Dave Webster from Swansea has been hired as a continuous improvement manager to specifically focus on change and process development for the business. His role has been created to help the company to constantly advance its business practices, procedures and long term business strategy.
Dave previously worked as a lean manufacturing consultant with Principality Consulting Limited. His previous work experience has also included automotive management within manufacturing engineering and project management roles around the globe. His appointment will see him bring this experience to the Lewis Pies and Pasty Company and further develop his business acumen, while identifying and delivering the most important improvement initiatives for the company.
Wilf Lewis, commercial director of the Lewis Pies and Pasty Company, said:
“We are really pleased to welcome Dave on board with the team at the Lewis Pies and Pasty Company. We were looking for someone quite unique with a very specific skill set to help take us to the next level with the business, and Dave delivered on what we were pursuing.
“We are very focused on examining and improving everything we do here, with a view to always improve the finished product. This is why we created the new continuous improvement manager role, as we see it as a real investment in the business.
“Dave’s role is keeping up the momentum on change projects and getting them over the line. We are not a company that remains complacent, as there is always room for improvement through better processes, especially within manufacturing. Dave will aim to identify ways to enable the company to continuously improve to remain a leader in the industry and we look forward to seeing what he will put into practice.”
