During his first term as Honorary Chairperson, Mr Browers has instigated new systems to modernise ACPIN and raise the standards adhered to by its members. He has also developed working relationships with other leading experts in the field of physiotherapy and neurology from across the UK to promote best practice and research in the field of neurological physiotherapy.

“Having being involved with ACPIN for a number of years I am delighted to have been voted in as Honorary Chairperson for a second term.”

Mr Brouwers said.

“We have 18 proactive regional groups across the UK with each running its own post graduate and CPD courses. We have made significant changes to the role of ACPIN within our industry during my first term and I will continue to make these improvements as well as to continue the work started with partner organisations including the Stroke Association, Parkinson UK, MS Trust and UKaid.”

He continued,

“An important part of my role involves providing guidance and support for our regional groups. The strong links we now have with equipment suppliers and universities enables these to support education and research in order to develop the quality of services available to people with neurological disease or injury. My second term will role will be challenging but I am honoured to accept the position.”

Previously a Clinical Service Lead for physiotherapy service at the Welsh Spinal Cord Injury and Specialist Neuro Rehabilitation Unit, Therapy Lead for neurosciences in Cardiff and Vale University Health Board and Site Superintendent at Rookwood Hospital, Mr Brouwers left the NHS to set up his Newport based private Neuro Physiotherapy clinic in 2014.
