A new jobs initiative has been launched by St Asaph based JVP Group in response to the impact on unemployment in North Wales due to the coronavirus pandemic. The free service will connect individuals across the region who now find themselves in need of work, with employers who have urgent temporary, permanent and volunteering vacancies to fill.

Jobs in North Wales, a job site launched by JVP Group, is focused on directly connecting job seekers with North Wales employers, and the company is now providing the online platform to employers to advertise key worker and essential roles including volunteering opportunities, completely free of charge during the Covid-19 crisis.

MD of JVP Group Cath Harrison said:

“Employers across North Wales are facing serious challenges right now, and for the majority, recruitment has been put on hold.

“However, there are organisations across sectors such as healthcare, retail, IT, logistics, agriculture, food manufacturing and distribution who have urgent recruitment needs due to the current crisis, and there are many individuals who have suddenly found themselves in the unfortunate position of being out of work, along with those who fear that this will soon be the case once the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme ends.”

Last week, the Office for Budget Responsibility said that Britain’s economy could shrink by 35% this spring, and that unemployment could soar by over 2 million due to the pandemic.

Cath continued:

“It is important everyone pulls together during these incredibly difficult times, and we want to do our bit to help the North Wales community by supporting employers and individuals affected, and try to reduce the growing levels of unemployment.”

“This new jobs initiative is focused on creating one central place for all job seekers in the region to connect with those North Wales employers who have crucial jobs to fill, and to make it accessible to all, we are now providing employers with unlimited free access to list jobs and hire via the Jobs in North Wales platform, initially until the end of May.”

In addition to advertising vacancies and volunteering opportunities on the Jobs in North Wales job site free of charge, JVP Group are also suspending fees to provide employers with advice and guidance with the recruitment process, and will promote vacancies listed on the website to relevant job seekers via email and social media channels.

The company will also provide complimentary access to their time saving recruitment software to help employers manage the response to applicants and speed up the recruitment process.
