Denbighshire County Council is holding free events in Rhyl to offer guidance for residents who are thinking about starting up a business in the County.

Funded by the UK Government through the Community Renewal Fund, the workshops are free to attend for anyone unemployed or in employment with no obligation to sign up to anything.

The Economic Empowerment project will provide support to residents who are looking at starting something new, by providing advice and guidance about the industry and how to utilize the skills they already have.

The event will be held at Costigans Co Working Hub which has recently been regenerated by Denbighshire County Council as part of the wider Rhyl regeneration programme.

Guest speakers will be in attendance at the event to share their success stories and provide tips about how they got where they are now.

Two sessions are being run over the course of two days.

  • Wednesday afternoon on 6 and 13 July, 2:30pm to 4:30pm
  • Wednesday evening on 6 and 13 July, 5:30pm to 7.30pm

Cllr Jason McLellan, Leader and Lead Member for Economic Growth and Tackling Deprivation said

After researching training sessions, we identified there was a gap in the market for this type of learning, so we are pleased to be able to deliver this unique training opportunity for residents who may find the support useful.

It is more important than ever that we assist individuals and get them doing what they love.

The support we have already received from our partners to carry out these session’s has been fantastic, I am excited to see how this opportunity will provide eager individuals in the county a head start into creating their own business.

It is essential that you sign up before the event via – www.denbighshire.gov.uk/en/jobs-and-employees/forms/exploring-enterprise-workshop-signup.aspx . If you have any questions, you can email us at [email protected] for more information.
