Luxury Welsh wash brand, The Goodwash Company, has today announced the donation of 10,000 “goodwashes” to key workers, NHS teams and local communities across Wales and England.

During the period of COVID-19 lockdown, for every product bought from The Goodwash Company, a “wash” was donated to a keyworker across Wales and England. These were delivered via kits containing bespoke shampoo bars, body washes and hand lotions specifically tailored to those having to complete long shifts and spend unexpected overnights at their place of work. The 10,000 target was met through over 300 volunteer hours to hand make the products and nearly £20,000 worth of product.

Mandy Powell, co-founder of the luxury wash brand, Goodwash said;

“We do good not just because it is the right thing to do but because ‘doing good’ is at the very core of our business. We have always invested our profits and fundraising in improving the lives of people and animals via The Goodwash Foundation. Restrictions on in-person contact forced many of our community projects to be put on hold. It was an absolute no-brainer for us to change things to upscale production to support those that needed it most.”

In order to keep up with unprecedented consumer demand (sales are up nearly 6,000%), Goodwash brought all operations in-house to navigate and overcome workspace and delivery restrictions in lockdown.

Kelly Davis, co-founder of the luxury wash brand, Goodwash said;

“Our business was founded and is headquartered in Barry, South Wales but we have always run our operations from North Wales. Desperate to respond to demand from customers and continue to support our key workers, I took the decision just prior to lockdown to move to North Wales to direct our operations. I  even roped in my retired parents to help and have been back sleeping under the Michael Owen duvet I had as a teenager! There was never any question about how much we wanted to support and celebrate frontline workers and we’re so proud of hitting the ten thousand washes target. Special thanks must, of course, go to all our customers who have supported us through these unprecedented times and it is thanks to their purchases that we have been able to give back to communities across the nation.”
