On Saturday 12th September four colleagues from Newport based pipe manufacturer, Asset International, channelled their inner pugilist and participated in a White Collar Boxing event at Mo’s Boxing & Fitness Academy in Pill.
Johnny Johnson, Ben Hillman, Anthony Sesevic and Wayne Daniels, all entered the arena and fought like old pros at the competitive event, in order to help raise much needed funds for Autism Puzzles and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
The idea behind the event was conceived by Asset employee John Hutton, who is also an instructor at Mo’s Boxing & Fitness Academy.
In all twelve bouts were organised for the evening’s entertainment, the youngest fighter being just seven years of age and the oldest being 72.
All competitors began training for the event back in June, with Mo’s Boxing & Fitness Academy providing the training facilities free of charge for all participants in the run up to the big fight night.
Two hundred tickets were sold for the event, which raised an incredible £3,300 for the two charities involved.
