Move over ‘The Apprentice’… there are some new entrepreneurs in town ready to vie for a stake of the business action when they take part in the 2016 Final of the Bluerock ‘Dragons’ Den’ this week.

Organised by the Bluerock-ed Entrepreneur & Executive Business Group, and hosted by business giant ROCKWOOL UK, the Dragons’ Den Final will see finalists take to the stage on Thursday August 25th, to present their exciting and innovative business ideas to a panel of Bluerock- ‘Dragons’.

And there’s no shortage of creativity and enthusiasm among the new entrepreneur finalists in the 2016 competition, with pitches to the Bluerock Dragons’ Den including exciting ideas ranging from innovation in technology and sports, to a pet-travel service.

The 2016 Dragons’ Den Final is being held as part of the Bluerock Summer Event at ROCKWOOL’S UK Headquarters (Pencoed, Bridgend) between 9am-midday, when the finalists will face the testing challenge of pitching their ideas to a the panel of prominent business men and women, each given 10 minutes to present their idea, followed by questions from the Dragons about their business plans. And all this in front of an audience of Bluerock entrepreneur and executive members and guests!

The winner of the 2016 Bluerock Dragon’s Den Final will be presented with a selection of exciting prizes to support the building of their business venture, including business coaching sessions with each of the Bluerock Dragons, vouchers, a one-year license for Office 365 and a striking Bluerock Dragons’ Den award.

The event will also include a series of presentations by top speakers,  Founder and Managing Director of Superstars  James Taylor,  CEO and Founder of Nudjed  Warren Fauvel, and CEO  of Bridgend County Borough Council Darren Mepham, who will all be talking on topics around  entrepreneurial and leadership skills

Interest in the event, the first time it has been held by the Bluerock Entrepreneur and Executive Group in South Wales, has been high, and also among the submissions for a place in the Dragons’ Den Final was an impressive business idea from a 12-year-old boy. Although he wasn’t selected in the final group to present to the panel, so inspired were the judges by his bold initiative, business acumen and enthusiasm, that he has been invited to attend the event as a special guest, to meet the Dragons and join the Bluerock-ed members for the keynote speaker sessions, with eminent entrepreneurs and executives talking about building on entrepreneurial skills and opportunities, developing your business and leadership.

Bluerock-ed was established in South Wales May 2015 by multi-award-winning entrepreneur Linda Narbeth of Cherryblue, with a membership representing some of the most successful businesses and organisations from across South Wales, including finance, manufacturing, motor trade, technology, public sector, workforce management, design, IT, training and childcare.

Meeting monthly, the group hosts prominent speakers talking on business specialisms ranging from Leadership to Lean thinking, communications to corporate branding, hosts workshops and runs an Executive Group for key members.

Part of the Group’s reference is to support up and coming entrepreneurs in South Wales, giving them the benefit of mentoring and coaching from some of the Principality’s leading businessmen and women and high-flying executives.

The Group also supports local charities, donating a percentage of its membership fees to a nominated charity every month.

Bluerock-ed Group Manager and Managing Director of Cherryblue, Linda Narbeth said:

“Building a successful business is very satisfying, and the ethos of the Bluerock-ed Entrepreneur and Executive Group is to support others and share expertise, knowledge and experience. Being able to use all that to encourage and inspire other young entrepreneurs as they build their dreams, is extremely rewarding.

“The new entrepreneurs who are vying for the title of 2016 Bluerock Dragons’ Den champion have put forward some amazingly creative and inspiring business proposals and it promises to be an interesting Final.”
