Hutchinson Thomas, the fast growing full-service law firm covering South and West Wales, has completed a six figure investment in upgrading its IT infrastructure to cope with rapid growth in recent years and to offer clients a better and more efficient experience.
The Neath based law firm, which also opened a state-of-the-art office in SA1 at the start of this year, worked with Bridgend-based IT company CSG on the project.
The new IT system, which was designed specifically for the legal profession, replaces a previous infrastructure which was in place for twelve years.
The system simplifies the time consuming billing process that the law firm deals with, and ensures that information on the firm’s cases is more easily accessed.
It also enables the seamless sharing of information between the firm’s Neath and SA1 offices, and creates the necessary digital infrastructure for the company to expand further – at present Hutchinson Thomas has 63 staff including 22 lawyers, a big increase on five years ago.
Managing Partner Peter Morgan said:
“We have grown rapidly in recent years launching a brand new office in Swansea’s SA1 earlier this year. This investment will help us keep up with that growth and also help us become more efficient and faster for our clients.
We chose CSG for the job because it’s a local company with a great reputation. They’ve really delivered and already we’re starting to see the benefits of the change.”
While Matthew Bater, Commercial Manager at CSG said:
“We worked closely with the Partners and the rest of the team at Hutchinson Thomas to find out what would really help them on a day to day basis. The new system is much slicker and doesn’t carry any of the legacy issues that the previous one did. A change like this was also necessary to ensure that the company could push ahead with its expansion plans.”
