Monmouthshire Council Celebrates Employability Week 2019

Monmouthshire County Council Enterprise Team celebrates Employability Week with a roadshow across the county.

The team has regrettably cancelled the forthcoming Employability Day which was due to take place on Friday 21st June at County Hall, Usk. The Enterprise Team will continue to host a number of roadshows across the county in a bid to increase awareness of the many projects available to encourage residents to gain training or employment opportunities.

The employability roadshows are taking place:

  • Abergavenny Market, Tuesday  25th June 2019 11.00am – 2.30pm
  • Caldicot Jobs Fayre, Choir Hall, Caldicot Tuesday 11.30am – 2.30pm

  • Usk Hub, Wednesday 26th June  2019 11.30am – 2.30pm
  • Chepstow Hub, Thursday 27th June 2019 11.30am – 2.30pm
  • Monmouth Hub, Friday 28th June 2019 11.30am – 2.30pm

The team will hold a social media takeover day National Employability Day Friday 28th June, to highlight the good work being be delivered by Employability Providers in Monmouthshire. The Enterprise Team urges local businesses to join in on the day, tag @MonmouthshireYE and use the hashtag #empday2019.

The Enterprise Team is made up of three projects that aim to engage and empower residents aged 16 and over to gain qualifications, find employment or training. The projects; Inspire to achieve, Inspire to work and Communities for Work Plus are helping many residents benefit from the expertise of staff the unique partnership they have with local organisations and businesses.

Communities for Work Plus has made outstanding progress since it began in July 2018. The team has worked with many residents of Monmouthshire to gain work or training and exceed its outcomes set in 2018.
