Monmouthshire Businesses Invited to National Employability Day 2019

Local business are invited to attend Monmouthshire County Council Employability Day on Friday 21st June from 9.30 am at County Hall, Usk. The morning marks the start of Monmouthshire’ s Employability Week, which aims to inspire and recognise the wonderful work of the councils Youth Enterprise team and the Monmouthshire Employability Partnership.

The Employability Partnership is made up of Monmouthshire County Council – Youth Enterprise and Community Learning, Monmouthshire Housing Association, Melin Homes and PaCE (Parent Child Care and Employment) working together to improve employability opportunities for the citizens of Monmouthshire. Communities for Work Plus (CfW+) celebrates its first year of delivery in Monmouthshire with outstanding employment outcomes.

The day is an opportunity for local businesses to share their views to help the council understand more about the resource needs of local businesses so that apprenticeship schemes in Monmouthshire can be designed around the needs of local businesses and ensure that young people are prepared for the future of work.

A Monmouthshire County Council spokesperson said:

‘We are committed to supporting enterprise in Monmouthshire and encourage local young people to develop skills that will aid a brilliant career now and in the future. We welcome views from all local businesses to help us design our apprenticeship programmes based on their needs. I look forward to meeting a wide range of local businesses – all welcome.’

The morning will also provide an opportunity to celebrate achievements of citizens that have made outstanding progress to enter into education, employment or training.

The event will begin at 9.30am at County Hall in Usk, refreshments will be served until 10.00am a variety of guest speakers will be present and end at 12.00pm.
