HRT announce sponsorship of Y Bont Faen Primary School

Herbert R Thomas (HRT) has announced it is sponsoring Y Bont Faen Primary School’s PTA for the second year running.

HRT has signed a deal to become the main partner of the Cowbridge-based school.

Over the past year, HRT has had a presence at a number of events at the school. The estate agent also ran a photography masterclass with year five pupils with the winners receiving a £25 gift card for the Odeon cinema in Bridgend.

Funds donated were used by the PTA to purchase new sports equipment.

During this school year, the money will be used to help fund the ‘Corner Stones project,’ which is an education programme that helps children to achieve over and above what is set in the curriculum.

The ‘Corner stones project’ is part of Y Bont Faen’s ‘Reach for the Stars’ initiative to encourage all pupils to reach their full potential.

Herbert R Thomas will be attending many of the school’s event this year, such as the Christmas concert, summer fayre and summer ball.

The estate agent will also look to run the digital photography masterclass again for year’s three to six.

Having had a presence in Cowbridge since 1926, HRT is a keen supporter of the local community.

Robert Calcaterra, director at HRT, said:

“We’re thrilled to support Y Bont Faen once again this year. We really enjoyed attending the events and meeting the families of pupils last year.

“As a Cowbridge-based business, we feel it is important to support the community and we are fortunate to be in a position to do this.

“There's some exciting events and activities planned for this school year and we're looking forward to being a part of them.”

Julia Adams, headteacher of Y Bont Faen, said:

“The ‘Cornerstones project' is part of Y Bont Faen's “Reach for the Stars” initiative to encourage all pupils to reach their full potential.

“The staff and pupils are very grateful for the sponsorship money as it has enabled the school to purchase additional resources to enhance and support the learning opportunities delivered in Y Bont Faen.”
