The Seren Collection, the unique collection of quality hotels and restaurants by the sea in South West Wales have installed lifesaving defibrillators and trained our staff in all of their businesses.
The group, which includes Grove of Narberth, Coast Restaurant in Saundersfoot and Beach House in the Gower Peninsular have announced their partnership in working with the Welsh charity, Cariad to ensure the team can respond to life threatening circumstances appropriately in their remote locations.
In 2013 Cariad became a registered charity following the alarming statistic of 8000 people suffer a cardiac arrest outside of the hospital environment every year in Wales with a survival rate of just 3%. They have continued fundraising to provide more schools and communities with defibrillators across Wales and UK. To date Cariad has supplied more than 600 defibrillators to schools, communities and CFR teams.
Neil Kedward, Managing Director of Seren Collection said:
“We are delighted to work with Cariad to be able to deliver this lifesaving devise in each of our venues. Our beach side restaurants also offer the perfect location for these devices if a person is in need on the beach. We very much hope that we never have to use them, but it’s nonetheless nice to know we have them, and we have been properly trained by Cariad to make an intervention if required.”
