Leaders and Managers Invited to Free Workshops at Wales Air Ambulance

As part of its commitment to raising the bar in Leadership and Management in Wales, the Chartered Management Institute, Cymru has partnered with Wales Air Ambulance to host a series of Leadership-themed breakfast events at the charity’s new conference facilities in Dafen, Llanelli.

Businesses across West Wales are invited to attend the morning sessions, where they can network and learn while overlooking the airbase helipad.

waa-crew-conferenceThe first two workshops start at 8am on 21 and 28 September, and are open to all managers and leaders to attend. CPD certificates are available for each workshop.

Sue Parnell, the representative for West Wales on the CMI Cymru board, is excited to be bringing events to the area:

“I am keen to support managers and business leaders in West Wales by providing opportunities to enhance their skills and share expertise and best practice with their peers.  These are our first events in Llanelli and we have some great speakers and interesting topics lined up over the next two months.  We are grateful to Wales Air Ambulance for providing these first-class facilities, which are within easy reach of the M4.”

Wales Air Ambulance moved its headquarters and South Wales airbase to the custom-built site in the Spring, following a 12-month fundraising drive to secure WAA’s first owned home. The move is saving the charity thousands of pounds annually in rent and fuel costs.

The conference facilities are vital for aircrews’ continuing professional development and offer an ideal meeting point for local businesses.

Wales Air Ambulance chief executive Angela Hughes said:

“The charity has always been committed to the learning and development of its staff and now we have the opportunity to extend an invitation to the business community as well.

“The charity received a warm welcome when we moved to Carmarthenshire. We’re very proud to be here and to host these fantastic workshops in West Wales.

The series of breakfast networking events start on 21 September at 08:00, with “So You Want to be a Great Leader?” presented by Gary Metcalfe, the CMI Cymru Chair.  The following workshop, “The Confidence Masterclass,” is on 28 September.
