Are you the Cluster Development Manager to inspire and deliver our priority sector and innovation strategies?

Imagine working with priority sectors as diverse as the Creative Industries, Cybersecurity, Fintech, Medtech, an emerging Energy sector – and a world-leading Compound Semiconductor cluster – to optimise their innovation and maximise their potential.

Imagine being at the heart of ‘good growth’, helping drive world class ambitions for half the Welsh economy and 50% of the Welsh population – championing inspired innovation, sustainable value and inclusive prosperity by reshaping and reimagining the engine room of Wales.

Now make those visions a reality – as Cluster Development Manager for Cardiff Capital Region City Deal: the £1.3bn engine for growth that is evolving a new future for the towns, cities, valleys and rural communities of Southeast Wales

Shaping the strategy and delivering the potential of our pioneering priority sectors …

Join us as Cluster Development Manager and you’ll enjoy the freedom to inform and deliver our overall cluster strategies and broader innovation strategy,  working closely with the Head of Innovation & Cluster Development to:

  • establish, develop and ‘own’ the strategy for each cluster
  • design and deliver interventions using a variety of funding avenues
  • leverage the power of our technical centres and knowledge networks
  • take responsibility for developing each business case
  • explore every opportunity for the Clusters to work together

in a role that will excite and challenge you in equal measure.

Can you do it?

Yes, you can – if you have the C-suite credibility to cultivate a coherent structure and identity a wide range of emerging networks and partnerships; with the personality and gravitas to mobilise clusters and create the all-important momentum that empowers and nurtures future organic development.

If you do have that blend of hard and soft skills, this is the perfect platform for your sound understanding of setting strategic directions and creating £multi-million inward investment roadmaps, proven in a cross-sectoral innovation ecosystem (Including the research landscape, skillscape, key companies and investment community) in a relevant industry that aligns with at least one of the CCR priority sectors.

Bring us that blend of talents – together with the communication and relationship-building skills to broker and manage partnerships across businesses, R&D, the public sector and the wider community – and this is your future to both build and enjoy: championing the CCR knowledge economy, galvanising the best practices and experiences of global partners and regions, and reaping the rewards of an incredibly stimulating role that offers immense opportunity in the immediate and longer term.
